Infrastructure Management or Remote Infrastructure Management is defined as providing remote support and management of various IT systems of their clients from global delivery sites. The major service offering encompasses remote monitoring and management, which includes support, administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance enhancement. It also includes remote system monitoring of the following: data center, networks (WAN and/or LAN including switches, routers, and hubs), database administration, desktops, servers and related peripherals, and e-mail systems. The IMS industry is moving towards a remote delivery model where services are increasing delivered by vendors and captives from low-cost locations. RIM technology has developed as more and more companies understand its necessity and usefulness in running their business.
